Don't Breathe
Photography
The concept of mortality has always been a challenging and overwhelming subject for me, and I wanted to explore it through my work. In Can You Breathe?, I examine the preservation of memories as a response to the inevitability of death. The phrase "We come from dust and we end as dust" has been a guiding thought in my process.
I reflect on how, despite our efforts to extend life and maintain memories—symbolized by our use of plastic to preserve food, possessions, and cleanliness—we are all ultimately subject to time’s passing. By encasing the people and memories that mean the most to me in plastic, I express my desire to hold onto them, even as they inevitably fade away.
